Learning to trust God and all His promises while celebrating all the little things that make life beautiful!
Hello January!!!
Hello strangers...
I know - its been a while! Life has been a real roller-coaster and gone round and round in circles over the last 6 months. It's definitely been a challenge. But that's a story for another day!
So I'm back! It's the summer and I've ready to have lots of fun with family and friends. I'm really a bit sick of Covid19 spoiling all our plans, putting us back into lockdown after lockdown, but no matter what happens, I'm in the mood for some fun, food and fellowship!
The first thing I do want to do this summer is read some of the many books I've accumulated over the last few years! I love the feel of a real book so I treated myself and now have lots to read, highlight and absorb. The first is this wee gem:
New Year - New Goals
For the last 40 days of the year I hosted a ‘40 days to finishing well’ devotional with a group of friends to help us get ready for 2021. Based on 1 Thessalonians 5:12-18 we looked at how to rejoice, pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances, especially in view of 2020 and all that was thrown at us. It was such a joy to be able to work through these verses with this wonderful group of lovely ladies.
The last few days we looked at setting goals to help us grow in the New Year. Not New Year's resolutions - firstly they don’t work and secondly they are set in ancient pagan rituals, so we don’t want to go there! - goals to help us grow. There are several areas that I want to grow this year -
Spiritually
Emotionally
Physically
Personally
So my aim is to set goals in each area and work towards them. It has been interesting trying to narrow down my goals, but I know that as long as I make progress and keep my eyes fixed on God I’ll be doing ok!
So in January my goal is to spend quality time with God each morning, using prayer, worship and studying the Bible. I am also hoping to keep a gratitude diary, working through the 1000 gifts monthly guide. It is definitely a fun way to count our blessings.
It's been a while...
Wow! It has definitely been a while since I blogged! Life has been just as crazy as ever, with multiple enforced lock downs, including one when we all got Covid-19. We were all fine - it was like a bad flu except you can't taste or smell anything, and we have all recovered well. But it was still crazy.
Right now we are coming up to what will definitely be the strangest Christmas yet, with limits to family visits and how many people can actually get together.
So I decided to do another little devotional set - 40 days to finishing well. We started on Sunday past, and will continue right up to the end of 2020. Its set around 1 Thessalonians 5:12-18 and will hopefully help us to focus on God as we end the hardest of years.
I'll be posting the devotionals on here but probably not every day - it'll maybe be a couple at once - as I'm definitely not that organised!
Apart from that I hope you all are well here in Blogland and I will speak to you soon!

A musical message!
Nobody ever would
Caught in the middle of this dysfunction
It's your sad reality
It's your messed up family tree
And all your left with all these questions
Are you gonna be like your father was and his father was?
Do you have to carry what they've handed down?
No, this is not your legacy
This is not your destiny
Yesterday does not define you
No, this is not your legacy
This is not your meant to be
I can break the chains that bind you
I have a dream for you
It's better than where you've been
It's bigger than your imagination
You're gonna find real love
And you're gonna hold your kids
You'll change the course of generations
No, this is not your legacy
This is not your destiny
Yesterday does not define you
No, this is not your legacy
This is not your meant to be
I can break the chains that bind you
'Cause you're my child
You're my chosen
You are loved
You are loved
And I will restore
All that was broken
You are loved
You are loved
And just like the seasons change
Winter into spring
You're bringing new life to your family tree now
Yes you are
You are
Oh, this will be your legacy
This will be your destiny
Yesterday did not define you
Oh, this will be your legacy
This will be your meant to be
I can break the chains that bind you
And just like the seasons change
Winter into spring
You're bringing new life to your family tree now
