Day 19 - God loves everyone - even you

One of the things that unites us all during this pandemic is the fact that anyone can be affected by this virus.

Among the people who have tested positive there have been ordinary people doing ordinary jobs, our heroes in the health service, Pastors from our churches, superstars and celebrities, as well as Princes Charles and now the Prime Minister.

Anyone can get it. Anyone can die from it. It is not impressed or aware of who you are or what you do.

This reminds me so much of God right now. In Acts chapter 10 we read -

“Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism.
In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.
This is the message of Good News for the people of Israel—that
there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.”
‭‭(v34-36‬)

God doesn’t care who you are, what you do, how much money you have or how big your house is. He doesn’t care what you have or haven’t done with your life or the mistakes that you’ve made.

Verse 36 tells us that the way to peace with God is through Jesus. That’s it.

The only thing God is interested in is whether or not you love Him, whether or not you have humbled yourself to realise that you’ve done wrong things and need to ask Him to forgive you, and whether you believe and trust that Jesus died for you.

Coming up to Easter, it’s fitting that we consider this - God would still have sent Jesus to live a perfect life on earth and die for YOUR sins - even if you were the only person on earth.

You are that special to God.

Seriously - you truly are. That’s how much He loves you.

So today, as we pray for Boris and the rest of the people fighting for their lives against COVID-19, take time to think about how much God loves you and wants you to a daughter of the King.
