Can you believe we are now officially ‘off’ for Easter?! It’s now been 2 weeks since the boys finished school and we’ve been on lockdown. The days are definitely merging into each other and there is little to tell them apart.
But this is an extremely important time of year and we need to remember it.
Today marks the start of the run up to Easter Sunday - it’s called Palm Sunday and it reminds us of when Jesus rose into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey.
Matthew tells us -
“Most of the crowd spread their garments on the road ahead of him,
and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.”
Matthew 21:8 NLT
Everyone was celebrating Jesus as he arrived. Everyone was talking about Him. There was an air of excitement around Him.
It all changes during the course of this week. This is a week full of betrayal, sacrifice and doing God’s will above everything. But we’ll talk more about that later!
For now, my challenge is this - what are your thoughts on Jesus? Who do you say that He is? What, if any, part does He play in your lives? Are you excited to see Him or meet with Him or talk to Him?
You don’t have to answer, but I’d love to hear it if you want to tell me! 😊
