This Christmas was a very special one for our family. My eldest son turned 18 on Boxing Day so it was our last Christmas with 4 little ones. Next year we'll have 3 adults and 3 kids in the house! We wanted to make it extra special, especially as next year he will be off at university and who knows what changes that will bring.
So we planned lots of Christmas fun and are now exhausted! Exhausted but happy!
We started with a family party for my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary - with a wee visit from Santa. It was a great evening, with this special poem written by my mother-in-law.
GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY THOUGHTS
On this our golden wedding day
We thank God first for the way
His hand has been upon our life
Since we became husband and wife.
He has blessed us in so many things,
More than the world, peace He brings.
He helped us with a love that did last
As we look back on our past.
Our six sons are gifts from His hands,
They were always in His plans.
Of them all we are very proud,
Although we don't boast aloud.
We now have lovely daughters-in-law,
And we are now their in-laws,
A great big family now we have to date
Seventeen grandchildren coming through our gate.
Our home has always been so busy
Some day it would make you dizzy.
God watched over us and brought us to be His own,
One day we both will join with Him around His throne.
If you ask what I would like to have in life,
Our family to be as happy as we've been as husband and wife,
Not to place time on things that won't last,
But to God in first place, pin His trust to your mast.
He will supply all your need,
As you trust on Him to lead.

She is a wonderful godly woman and I am blessed to have her as my mother-in-law. It was such a lovely way to start our special Christmas. This week I'll be sharing more memories we made!
Keep shining xxx
